Denver City Hall
Denver City Hall (officially the Denver City and County Building) was designed by a coalition of thirty-nine leading local architects formed in 1924 as the Allied Architects Association and finally opened in 1932.
The building has a neoclassical style that reflected Denver’s aspirations to be the ‘Rome of the Rockies’. The stone edifice has a symmetrical H plan that measures 133 metres wide and 84 metres deep but only 27 metres high, to avoid blocking Denver’s cherished mountain view. The massive pedimented entry portico has six 15 metre Corinthian columns. The City and County Building’s most striking feature is the two four-story wings, fronted by Ionic columns, arching forward from the central structure.
Another dominant feature is a thin central tower with clock and chimes. The tower is crowned by an eagle with outspread wings, the position in which the bird defecates; according to folklore, this was the artist’s response to charges of corruption in the building below.
In 1974 the City Hall was included in the Civic Center National Historic District. In 2012 it was celebrated as an anchor of Civic Centre’s designation as Denver’s first National Historic Landmark, the highest federal honour awarded.

I’ve tried to make this asset as realistic as possible and therefore the geometry tri count is high and the textures large. All of the texture elements have been created specifically for this asset in order for full control over the final look.
