CAF MBTA Type 9 LRV
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is the agency that operates the public transit in the Boston area. They operate the green line, the third most busiest light rail line in America. MBTA operates 24 CAF type 9 light rail vehicles. These vehicles were ordered to provide additional rolling stock for the green line extension. Once the Type 10s come into service after 2026, the type 9s will be transferred to the Mattapan Trolley line.
