Description:

Looking for a turbine with U-turns? Check out grimarchangel’s version: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=409870774

The first interchange in my collection, and my favorite! I mean, just look at it! The spiral ramp pattern is almost mesmerizing! Not only is it far from an eyesore but also one of the most efficient four-way interchanges you can design. What’s strange is that not many of these ever get built. The only country which seem to like them is Belgium, which has tonnes of them.

2.0 UPDATE – The turbine interchange is the first one to be updated, and not much has actually changed. The merges are more parallell, curves have been smoothed out and ramps are not as steep anymore. The size hasn’t increased much though.

=================================================================

Advantages:
+ Low height, making it easier to place on uneven terrain, and fits better in rural areas than a stack
+ Long ramps, making the occational queue much less of a problem
+ No weaving

Disadvatages:
– Takes up a lot of space, compared to most other interchanges
– Difficult to retro-fit and improve on
