K’s Denki is a chain of electronics retail stores operated by K’s Holdings, headquartered in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture. It is Japan’s third largest electronics retail store in terms of sales (as of January 2, 2023).
Founded in March 1947 as Kato Denki Shokai, the company changed its name to Kato Denki Y.K. in May 1971, and changed its name to K’s Denki Co. in November 1997.
K’s Denki has been focusing on opening stores in the suburbs, rather than in front of large city stations as other electronics retailers do. In recent years, the company has also been opening "urban" stores targeting high-rise condominium complexes.
