Glumslöv

Glumslöv is a map I made in less than a day as part of a city planning project for university (well sort of something like that anyway). I initially didn’t plan to upload the map but it came together pretty good so I thought I might aswell share it here.

The map is based on the location of the real life village of Glumslöv in the south Swedish County of Scania, between the larger towns of Helsingborg and Landskrona. The terrain is based on a 1:1 terrain heightmap over the area from https://heightmap.skydark.pl. The networks, including the E6/E20 highway and the west coast mainline, have been recreated using an overlay map from the same website (included in the preview images).

Mass Transit DLC IS REQUIRED FOR THIS MAP. No mods are required to play this map but I would recommend using Network Anarchy mod which will make it easier for you to edit some of the original networks. No collision and anarchy will let you place and upgrade roads without deleting old abandoned buildings and other details on the map.

I have setup this map to work great with the default vanilla temperate map theme and this is what you can see in the preview pictures. Keep in mind that I use LUTs and other mods that may affect visuals so the map may look different in your game even if theme is the same.

I made this map very quickly and the level of detail will reflect this. I have tested the map and found that while most networks work perfectly fine, approches to the single roundabout on the map (near real life Rydebäck) may get some traffic backup up without using mods like TM:PE to allow cars to enter blocked junctions.

This ones for my one classmate who also plays Cities: Skylines and who got me motivated to try this out You know who you are 😉. I also want to thank my girlfriend who very aptly pointed out that the allocation of different field colors looked abit too regular. Quickly making things a bit more irregular proved her to be right. She is unknowingly a mapmaking genious 🥰. I suppose I should also acknowledge the support from everybody who tuned in for the twitch stream[www.twitch.tv] during which most of the map was built.
